Our Communities
“Many streams, one river.”
The Kalenjin nation is composed of fifteen natural communities — tribes, in the older tongue — each with its own clans, dialects, and country, all bound by one covenant and one tongue.
A note on framing: the elders’ settled record treats Arror, Samor and Lembus as distinct communities of the Baringo ridge country, each in its own right, alongside the others listed here. Earlier working briefs that grouped them under a single umbrella name are now superseded.
