The Cherangany are the community of the Cherangany Hills, one of the great water towers of Kenya and the source of many of the rivers that feed the western Rift and the Turkwel.

Their country is a country of cedar and bamboo, and the community has for generations been one of the quiet stewards of the highland forests.

The Cherangany carry a memory of the forest that the Foundation is committed to preserving and to sharing with the wider nation.
