Uasin Gishu is the North Rift plateau, the country that feeds Kenya and trains its runners. Eldoret is the largest Kalenjin city, and the university, referral hospital, and airport there make it the practical capital of the North Rift.
Nandi households from Kapsabet, Keiyo and Marakwet from the escarpment, Arror and Samor from Baringo, and Kipsigis from Kericho have all settled the plateau in different generations. The county now carries almost every Kalenjin community in one form or another.
Foundation work here concentrates on the Eldoret chapter, on university and secondary school programmes, and on the cooperative and enterprise networks that link the plateau to the rest of the country.
Eldoret chapter
Convening space for professionals, students, and traders in the North Rift capital.
Universities and schools

Agriculture and enterprise
Support for maize and dairy cooperatives and for small manufacturers across the county.
