Samburu is not a Kalenjin ancestral county, but Pokot, Arror and Samor households have long lived across its frontier, particularly around Baragoi, Suguta Marmar, and the Samburu Turkana border.
This is one of the toughest peace geographies in Kenya, where drought, cattle, and old grievance meet along the wells and the pasture routes. The elders of the Kalenjin communities here work daily with Samburu and Turkana neighbours to hold the ground steady.
The Foundation supports the councils of elders across the frontier, women's groups in the market towns, and schools that serve the herding families of the county.
