One Nation United Under God

Samor

The eight clans are one hand.

Homeland
The Samor country of the Baringo ridge, home of the Sachek and their kin.
Counties
Baringo
Tongue
Samor, sister tongue to Arror and Keiyo.
Livelihood
Goats, cattle, honey, and hillside cultivation.

The Samor keep the country of the Baringo ridge around the Samor line, and the community is composed of eight great clans: Sachek, Chepkeroek, Kakimoriek, Kebeniek, Bogoriek, Kabarngetiek, Ewalel and Chapchap.

Samor elders are among the most careful keepers of the old counsel, and the community's clan structure is one of the most complete in the Kalenjin record.

The Foundation now recognises the Samor as a community in their own right, alongside the Arror and the Lembus.
