One Nation United Under God

Terik

A small stream can still cross the country.

Homeland
The southern edge of the Nandi plateau toward the Kakamega border.
Counties
Nandi · Kakamega
Tongue
Terik, close to Nandi with the accents of the western frontier.
Livelihood
Maize, sugar cane, dairy, and tea.

The Terik hold the southern edge of the Nandi plateau, in the country where the Kalenjin nation meets the Luhya of Kakamega.

Their community is small but old, and their tongue and their customs sit close to the Nandi, with whom they share long lines of marriage and trade.

The Terik have quietly preserved a border tradition that connects the Kalenjin nation to its western neighbours.
